Rocks sliding down a river bed

Towards the boundless sea

By water they shrink and shed

Never to be free

What they lack in choice

They have in purpose

Part of a bigger whole

No need for rambling

Arguments like noise

Yet even that is an illusion

There is no greater plan

People try doing what they can

It only leads to more confusion

A final consolation

Could be found in a group?

Well if you can deal with the frustration

Of trusting, and jumping through every hoop

Then what do you follow?

Is there anything to do?

Follow a God

You do not know?

Whom you hear about

But never see

And even if I throttle along

The God never chooses me

‘He has a purpose for you’

So ‘they’ say

Towards whatever place I stray

It’s the best when I obey

Even if I get ‘lost’

it’s part of the ‘greater plan’

But if that’s correct

I feel like his neglect

My purpose should be mine

whatever I do should be fine

And never a crime

The only purpose Gods are good for

Is the purpose I give to them

Cause I do be lost sometime

And then I briefly need a helpful chime
